ADOXACEAE

Viburnum tinus L.

Laurustinus

G.J.L Garnett #0001

Collected on February 13th 2014

Multi stemmed evergreen shrub. Dark green evergreen foliage is simple and entire with leaves oppositely arranged. Compound umbel inflorescence. Hermaphroditic flowers are an off white colour.

Growing in car park alongside a busy road. Similarly sized evergreen shrubs to the north, west and east of the plant, open side facing south. Soil a cambisol with 1cm of moist, partially decomposed leaf litter. Very likely to have been planted as an ornamental, neatly pruned domed canopy with dense foliage nearly reaching the ground.

Flowers on inflorescences only open on south facing side of the plant.
